Summer Camp FAQ

Answers to your most common questions—and more!

My child is a selective eater. Can they still participate?

Absolutely! Our program is designed to encourage children to try new foods while respecting their preferences. Selective eaters often discover new favorites in our fun and supportive environment.

My child has an allergy. Do you offer substitutions?

Yes, we strive to accommodate food allergies by providing alternative ingredients whenever possible. However, substitutions can be made for some recipes but not others. We recommend parents choose a camp week with a menu that requires minimal alternatives to ensure the best experience for their child. Please discuss your child’s specific needs with our staff before the program begins.

Do the kids cook all day?

While cooking is the main focus of our camp, we balance the schedule with fun activities like crafts, games, and outdoor play to provide a well-rounded experience for your child.

What should my child bring to camp?

Campers should bring a labeled medium-sized Tupperware container, a labeled water bottle, a snack, and any necessary items like sunscreen or hats for outdoor breaks. If your child is attending before or after care, they’re welcome to bring a book, toy, or age-appropriate game to enjoy.

Can my child select who they work with?

Yes, campers can request to work with friends or family members. We’ll do our best to honor these requests while ensuring all participants have a chance to make new connections and enjoy a collaborative experience.

Should parents stay in the hallway or onsite during class or camp?

No, parents are not allowed to stay in the hallway or onsite during class or camp. This policy ensures a focused and independent experience for all campers.

My child is nervous about participating. What should I do?

It’s natural to feel nervous about trying something new! Our team is experienced in helping children feel welcome and comfortable. Let us know ahead of time, and we’ll provide extra support to ease their transition.

Are the meals prepared by campers safe for kids with allergies?

We take extensive measures to ensure safety, but we cannot guarantee the complete removal of all allergens. Please discuss your child’s needs with us in detail to minimize any risks.

Can I attend the final day cooking competition?

Yes! Parents are welcome to cheer on their campers during our exciting cooking competition, which takes place on Fridays at 2:10 PM for kids signed up for a 5-day week camp. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their hard work and creativity as they showcase their culinary skills to judges.
